hold dcs accountable
Republican leadership isn't going to hold DCS accountable — they've made that clear, session after session. So we're going over their heads. Rep. Behn's office is building an omnibus civil rights complaint to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, family by family, building the legal record that Tennessee refuses to create itself. The federal government already found Tennessee out of compliance with child welfare law. We're making sure HHS knows nothing has been fixed. If you or someone you love has been failed by DCS, your testimony isn't just important, but can be used as evidence to push for change within DCS

JOIN US JUNE 20TH FOR A DCS FAMILY TOWNHALL AND LEGAL CLINIC
Hosted by the Middle Tennessee National Action Network in partnership with State Representative Aftyn Behn.
Tennessee's Department of Children's Services has been under federal scrutiny for years — and families across this state have been carrying the weight of a broken system largely alone. That ends here. This townhall connects you directly with attorneys who know DCS cases, your rights, and the system. The panel runs all morning; breakout legal consultations fill the afternoon.
This free, full-day event is designed specifically for families who have been impacted by DCS — whether your case is open right now, recently closed, or years behind you. The morning features a panel of experienced attorneys walking through parental rights, court processes, and how to navigate the system. The afternoon is yours: one-on-one breakout sessions where you can sit down with an attorney and talk through your specific situation.
